Shout! Shout! Let it all out!

Psalms 119:1, 119:2 " Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are those who keep His statutes and seek Him with all their heart."

I woke this morning to a beautiful cool sunny day.  It was cool enough I had to remind myself it is still July. I spent some time in the word and read the scripture above.  I had some things to do like run to the dump.  Getting rid of some stuff that is no longer needed.  The day brought me back to my days as a teenager.  A time when I was challenged to live according to God's statutes.

The pop/rock music of the day was lead by such secular greats as Duran Duran, Talking Heads, and others.  One came to mind...Tears for Fears. I was not a huge fan of any one type of music. I think I listened to just about anything that has a positive message.  There was little if any Christian music to choose from that I was aware of. I had to make the best of what I could get.

I looked the group Tears for Fears up on YouTube this morning. The first song that played was the song Shout.  In the lyrics, it states "in violent times, you should not have to sell your soul".  I was reminded about how many people, due to a multitude of reasons, "sell their souls" or let go of their relationship with God and seek their selfish desires to try to fit in to the culture.  This attitude only leads to destruction. You know, the fleecing of your faith may come in very subtle ways. Do you know the danger signs? Do you understand truth?  Will you decide to let go of yourself, shout, dump your pride, ego, and junk that has cluttered your life long enough so to allow you to see His light?  A very simple decision to follow Christ, very difficult to do it(James 1:21-22).

Psalms 119 states that those who are blameless, no, not perfect, but blameless, who walk according the GOD's plans are blessed.  Blessings come in a multitude of packages. Some large, some small. I do not seek to fit in to the culture of the day in order to feel accepted. I do not seek God in order to obtain some great status in my life here on earth. I seek Him for who His has proven Himself to be in my life, the desire He has for me, the sacrifice He made to prove it, and the promise of eternal life with Him.  I am content with that.  Jeremiah 29:11-14 tells us that God has a plan and I can find Him if I seek Him with all my heart.  As I have mentioned before, your heart sustains your life. You must, must seek Him with all that sustains you in all you do. That way you will allow surrender, and submission to Him to drive your life.

Shout, Shout, let it all out! Do not fear! Exchange your fears that keep you from an intimate relationship with God. Ask God to reveal your strongholds.  He will wipe away your tears of sorrow and replace them with tears of joy.  Allow Him to help you through them, and let go.  LIVE IN FREEDOM! Freedom only found in a life surrendered to Christ.
