Give Me Strength

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,  “If one ventures a word with you, will you become impatient? But who can refrain from speaking?  Behold you have admonished many, And you have strengthened weak hands.  Your words have helped the tottering to stand, And you have strengthened feeble knees.  But now it has come to you, and you are impatient; It touches you, and you are dismayed.  Is not your fear of God your confidence, And the integrity of your ways your hope?

Job 4:1‭-‬6 NASB

Value criticism born out of love. Job was weakened by the relentless attacks of the enemy, yet the words of a friend, sharp as they were, cut through to the truth. Recognize Jobs response;

“Oh that my request might come to pass, And that God would grant my longing!  Would that God were willing to crush me, That He would loose His hand and cut me off!  But it is still my consolation, And I rejoice in unsparing pain, That I have not denied the words of the Holy One.  What is my strength, that I should wait? And what is my end, that I should endure?  Is my strength the strength of stones, Or is my flesh bronze?  Is it that my help is not within me, And that deliverance is driven from me?  “For the despairing man there should be kindness from his friend; So that he does not forsake the fear of the Almighty.
Job 6:8‭-‬14 NASB

LORD, as I remember my moments of weakness, forgive me. Let me recall the times l was faithful and you answered. Give me strength and to endure and obey your will.

Give those around me the audacity to speak truth into me. Allow my heart to receive them, recognizing the intention and motive of their words.
