Be Present

Have you ever felt alone in this world? Maybe the newbie in a new job or moved to a new community?  Have you been out and about running errands and receive and unexpected greeting or gesture of kindness from a perfect stranger?  I certainly have.

How did that make you feel?

If you are like me, your sense of  loneliness departed you if only for a moment. Why do you think? You were recognized. You didn't do anything to receive the gesture other than "being present".

What a powerful gesture of kindness!

Be present in a stranger's life. Bless someone today. Smile, look at a stranger in the eye and say hello.

It's the little things that you do that open people up.

Jesus didn't know a stranger. He engaged others. So should we.

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

Galatians 2:20 ESV
