Be Available To God

Matthew 6:24 (NASB) "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth."

I am witnessing many men, whom are strong believers, getting caught up in the "busyness" of life.  Many are being forced to work longer hours at work which may threaten their walk with Christ.

I understand that God provides "seasons" where, in order to obtain a goal, one may be have a lot of responsibilities. But, He never places another "master" in front of us to consume us entirely.  The important thing to recognize is which master are you serving and why? Yourself (for money (get rich), for job security, for identity security, for financial security (fear of losing job, or position in career), fear of control, or God.

If I am to "preserve" my relationship with God and be available to Him, I must be intentional about my purpose and goals. Remember, life here on earth is for only a short period. Do not over extend your investment in it. Invest your time, skills, and other resources wisely....on things that are of eternal value.

If I know I am called to be in a right relationship with Christ first, spouse second, family third, and then ministry and career, I will keep the balance necessary to sustain my walk and responsibility in my relationship with Christ.

Do not let fear drive you into a position where you despise God. That is a trap of the enemy (Satan).  He will confuse you to believe your "busyness" is a good thing when it is really not (if causing you to fall out of relationship(time spent in the Bible and serving) with Him or other Godly people).

If I get too busy, I may miss the alarm and not be available to....Respond to the Call.
